Northwest Indiana Oilmen End Losing Streak After Splitting Double Header

The Northwest Indiana Oilmen (15-9) played a double header Monday against the DeKalb County Liners (15-10), which included a rescheduled game due to last Thursday’s storm. The Oilmen fell short in game one, 9-7, extending their losing streak to six games. Game two had both starters pitch a complete game, with the Oilmen coming out on top 2-1.

In game one, John Livingston racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings. Drew Provence got his second win for the DeKalb County Liners despite allowing seven runs over five innings. Provence struck out four, walked four and gave up seven hits. Josh Stowe (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

Game two saw a pitching duel between Oilmen Danny Britt and County Liner David Deliz.  Britt picks up his fourth win of the season and now holds a 4-1 record.  Britt allowed one run on four hits.  Deliz picked up a tough loss, his first of the season, after allowing only two runs on three hits. The Oilmen won it in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Craig Austgen, scoring Billy Miller for the walk off win.
