Oilmen Look to Bounce Back, Travel to DuPage County

WHITING, Ind. -- The Northwest Indiana Oilmen will look to rebound from yesterday as the Oilmen travel to Lemont, Ill. to take on the DuPage County Hounds Sunday.

The Oilmen (0-1) will take on the Hounds (1-0) at the Lemont Sports Complex in Lemont, Ill. starting at 5 p.m. Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Northwest Indiana Oilmen are coming off a 1-0 setback in their season opener against the Bloomington Bobcats on May 28. Oilmen starter Richard Yelnick (New Lenox, Ill./Trinity Christian) threw five strong innings for NWI, not giving up a run, allowing only three hits, issuing one walk and striking out 10.

Matt Garbacz (Villa Park, Ill./Roosevelt) came on in relief, allowing two hits, walking one and striking out three with three strong frames.  Sam Geraci (Steger, Ill./Illinois-Springfield) suffered the tough luck loss, after the Bobcats walked off in the bottom of the 10th inning with a sacrifice fly.

Hunter Thorn (Portage, Ind./Portage) provided the offense for the Oilmen in the loss, going a perfect 4-4 at the plate, with three singles and a double.

SCOUTING THE HOUNDS
The DuPage County Hounds are coming off a 8-7 victory against the Joliet Admirals on May 27. Hounds starter Charlie Wright, lasted only 4.1 innings scattering five hits, allowing three runs, walking three and striking out two.

Austin Tittle led the Hounds offense, going 3-4, with two RBI, including a huge RBI single in the top of the seventh inning to give DuPage a 8-5 lead. Joe Stewart went 3-5, with two runs scored and 2 RBI.

SERIES HISTORY
The Hounds lead the all-time series between the two clubs, 23-22, but the Oilmen won the most recent meeting back on August 7 when NWI won Game 3 of the MCL
Championship over the Hounds, 7-1.
