Whiting, Ind. – Feb. 17, 2022 – Summer can’t come soon enough.

The Northwest Indiana Oilmen have announced their schedule for the 2022 summer season. This year, the Oilmen will compete in a 55-game regular season slate leading into the Northern League playoffs, which begin on Monday, Aug. 7.

The top four teams from the regular-season standings will once again participate in the league’s postseason, but this year the playoffs will begin with a single-elimination semifinal round on Aug. 7. That will be followed by the traditional best-of-three format for the championship series beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

The Oilmen start the season with 11 straight road games, beginning on Monday, May 23 against the Joliet Generals. The Oilmen will be the opponent for the first home game in Lake County Corn Dogs history on Thursday, May 26 in Crown Point. Following the lengthy stretch of road dates, the Oilmen will lift the lid on the home docket by hosting the Chicago American Giants on Wednesday, June 8 at 7:10 p.m. at Oil City Stadium.

The Northern League All-Star Game, an annual midsummer showcase of the league’s brightest stars, will take place on Tuesday, July 12 at 7:10 p.m. at Oil City Stadium.

Entering their 11th season of aiding ballplayers in their baseball development while providing affordable family entertainment, the Oilmen will look to continue their tradition of on-field excellence. They have enjoyed 10 consecutive winning seasons, made 10 straight postseason appearances, reached the league championship series on seven occasions and own three league titles.

After a three-year hiatus, Adam Enright has returned as Oilmen manager for the 2022 campaign. The winningest manager in franchise history, Enright guided the Oilmen to two league titles in his previous four-year stint at the helm (2015-2018).
