South Bests North In All-Star Game
The 2013 MCL All-Star Game took place on Tuesday at Oil City Stadium, with the South defeating the North 12-4.

Jack Czeszewski went 1-for-4 with a double in the game, while Leiff Clarkson continued his great season with a 2-for-3 game including three RBI. Jimmy McNamara started the game, and combined, the NWI all-star pitchers (McNamara, Steensen, Nasiloski, Matt and Danny Pobereyko) did not give up a run.

Southland’s Sean Beesley won All-Star MVP honors for the South by going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and four stolen bases.

Oilmen Nip Lakers With Ninth-Inning Run
Rashawn Tillman drove in Ty Hogan with a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning on Sunday, scoring the only run of the ballgame as NWI walked off against Michigan City at Oil City Stadium.

Both teams managed only five hits in the contest, but the Oilmen took advantage of a costly miscue in the ninth. After Hogan singled and stole second, Craig Austgen hit a grounder to third, but a low throw from the third baseman allowed Austgen to reach. Hogan went to third, and Tillman drove him in on the next pitch.

Jack Czeszewski and Tyler Baar each had doubles in the victory for NWI.

Sweet Relief
The Oilmen bullpen has been a bright spot in the last few games for NWI, having not surrendered a run in its last 15 and one-third innings of work.
