 By: Joe Loburgio, Contributing Writer - The Northwest Indiana Oilmen have added right-handed hitting catcher Tyler Hanson to their 2012 roster. Hanson will be suiting up for St. Joseph’s College for the first time this spring before heading to Whiting, Indiana to join the Oilmen.
Hanson is a 5’8 catcher from River Forest High School and calls Hobart, Indiana home. While attending River Forest he played pretty well for the Ingots, especially in the 2011 season when he earned an honorable mention from the Post-Tribune All-Area Baseball Team.
Hanson will be competing with Alex Lincoln for the starting catcher’s job but no matter what role he will be put in, he will look to contribute to making this inaugural 2012 season a successful one.
