Wally Widelski Named Northwest Indiana Oilmen Player Development Coach

The Northwest Indiana Oilmen are proud to announce that they have added Wally Widelski to their 2012 coaching staff. Widelski has had numerous coaching jobs with local baseball teams over the years and will join the Oilmen in Whiting this summer. Widelski is currently the bench coach at Trinity Christian and also spends time recruiting high school players. This summer he will be special assistant for player development for the Oilmen. Widelski was a former teammate of current Oilmen hitting coach Jason Huisman at Thornwood High School. After high school he then attended Norte Dame University where as a pitcher he helped the Fighting Irish win three regular season conference titles and clinch two NCAA regional appearances. After college graduation is when Widelski began racking up some coaching experience. Within the past few years he has been on the coaching staffs of the following baseball teams: Northern Illinois University, Notre Dame University, Bethel College, the Gary South Shore RailCats of the Northern League of Professional Baseball, Concordia University, Moraine Valley Community College, and Trinity Christian College.
