Northwest Indiana Oilmen Help South Division Win 2012 MCL All-Star Game
The Midwest Collegiate League annual All-Star game took place Wednesday night, with six members of the Northwest Indiana Oilmen playing on the MCL South team. The MCL South pulled off the win in a low scoring affair, 3-2.
The Oilmen were represented by pitchers Danny Britt, Joshua Negele, and Jack Cinoman, infielders Cody Dykema and Elliott Bajda, and outfielder Chris Rudenga.
Two runs were scored by NWI players. Bajda went 0 for 2 but walked and scored a run. Cody Dykema went 1 for 3, with an RBI, scoring one of the MCL South’s runs. Rudenga went 0-2.
Danny Britt pitched one inning, allowing no hits, and giving up only one walk. Negele also pitched one inning and gave up three hits and one earned run, while striking out two. Jack Cinoman pitched 2/3 of an inning, walking one and striking out one, allowing no hits or runs to score.
The winning pitcher for the night was Will County Crackerjack, Ben Gullo.
The Oilmen return to action on Saturday to take on the Illinois Lincolns at Oil City Stadium, starting at 6:10 pm.
