WHITING, Ind. -- The Northwest Indiana Oilmen will look to move closer to first place as NWI hosts the DuPage County Hounds in a make up game Monday.

The Hounds (16-7-1) will take on the Oilmen (15-9) at Oil City Stadium starting at 7:10 p.m. CT Monday.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
For the second consecutive day the Northwest Indiana Oilmen will be squaring off with the DuPage County Hounds. The Hounds currently sit in first place in the MCL (by win percentage) but with a win tonight the Oilmen can takeover the top spot after defeating the Hounds on June 25. A win tonight for Northwest Indiana would also extend their winning streak to six, one shy of matching the team record of seven.

SCOUTING THE HOUNDS
DuPage County brings a high powered offense led by the Hounds’ leadoff man Tristian Welch. Welch brings his league leading six homeruns into play, along with an impressive .400 batting average that has helped him rack up 40 RBI (also a league lead). Pitching has been a struggle for the hounds, who have a combined team ERA of 5.09.

INSIDE THE OILMEN
Northwest Indiana is continuing to surge behind the bats of Amir Wright (Kentucky Wesleyan/Griffith, Ind) and Blake Cleveland (Central Michigan/Nappannee, Ind.). Wright brings a .413 avg and a six-game into play, while Cleveland has continued to be a doubles machine, hitting eight doubles in just 11 games while batting at a .436 clip. On the mound for NWI it will be Max Franklin (Heartland CC/Chicago Heights, Ill.). The big righty will be a challenge for the Hounds, who could only muster two hits off of him in four innings in relief on May 28.

SERIES HISTORY
NWI Leads 25-24, including a 7-5 victory on June 25.
